Louisville-based Churchill Downs Inc. said Wednesday it will invest $100 million to build Owensboro Racing & Gaming in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Owensboro Racing & Gaming will be CDI’s seventh horse racing entertainment venue in Kentucky and will serve as an annex of the company’s Ellis Park Racing & Gaming venue in Henderson, Kentucky, south of Evansville.
The new venue will generate an estimated $125 million in annual regional economic impact, CDI said.
Churchill Downs is nearing completion of the $290 million Terre Haute Casino Resort, which has a grand opening celebration scheduled for April 5.
