Ross most recently served as CEO of Northwest Medical Center Houghton in Tucson, Arizona.
In his new role, Ross will oversee operations at IU Health Bloomington, IU Health Bedford Hospital, IU Health Morgan, and IU Health Paoli Hospital, as well as more than 60 ambulatory clinics and joint ventures across seven counties.
“Denzil’s strong background in operations of new hospital facilities, improving access and quality of care across many services, and recognition for strong community engagement will ensure our Hoosiers continue to have a strong partner in continually improving access and excellence in healthcare,” IU Health System Regional Operations Senior Vice President Brian Shockney said in a news release.
Ross helped open the 145-bed Northwest Medical Center during the pandemic, IU Health said in the release. He was appointed an America’s Essential Hospital Fellow in 2013 and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Services Executives.
“I am honored to join such a prestigious organization and be part of an amazing and dedicated team that’s doing such great things,” Ross said. “The organization’s mission of making Indiana one of the healthiest states in the country is one I am fully aligned with, and I am excited to join in that journey in collaboration with this community.”
Ross will begin his new role on Feb. 19.
