IPS, Indy Library expand partnership to 12 more schools

Subscribe NowAbout 5,000 Indianapolis students will have expanded access to books and reading resources thanks to an expanded partnership between the Indianapolis Public Library and Indianapolis Public Schools, the partners announced Tuesday.
Through the program, school libraries act as branches of the larger library system, meaning students can access its expansive catalog and request materials they can then receive at school.
Currently, 14 schools already participate in the Shared System program, tallying 8,867 students, and now will be joined by 12 more.
“By fostering accessibility to a wealth of physical and digital resources, we are opening new doors to learning, empowering students to explore, discover, and excel,” IPS Supt. Aleesia Johnson said in a news release. “This initiative aligns with our commitment to providing an enriched educational environment and equipping our students with the tools they need to thrive in the modern learning landscape.”
The schools entering the system are:
