The Green Oaks of Goshen community includes 120 units for seniors and will add 50 full- and part-time jobs when fully occupied.
Ground was broken on the community, located at 282 Johnston Street, in October 2021.
Illinois-based Gardant Management Solutions, which manages the community, says it is designed for lower-income seniors who need some help to maintain their independence.
Green Oaks of Goshen features a variety of services, including medication administration, daily meals, housekeeping, laundry and scheduled transportation.
“Our focus is to provide Green Oaks of Goshen residents with the love, compassion and dignity they deserve and the help and assistance they need,” Gardant Co-President Julie Simpkins said in a news release. “Our emphasis is on helping each resident achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.”
Gardant did not specify how many employees it had hired at the community’s opening on Feb. 8. However, when fully staffed, annual payroll with benefits is project to be about $2 million.
Green Oaks of Goshen was developed by Chicago-based Evergreen Real Estate Group. WJW Architects served as the designer and Evergreen Construction Co. completed construction.
