Allison currently serves as director of business development for Bacon Farmer Workman Engineering & Testing Inc. in Paducah, Kentucky.
1si is the chamber of commerce and economic development organization for Clark and Floyd Counties.
Prior to his work at BFW, Allison was president and CEO of the chambers of commerce for Panama City Beach, Florida, and Murray-Calloway County in Kentucky.
Under Allison’s leadership, the Murray-Calloway County Chamber received U.S. Chamber Accreditation and was also named the 2012 Mid-Size Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
1si Board Chair Bryan Wickens said in a news release that the board believes Allison is the “right leader at the right time” for the organization.
“Lance not only has a deep appreciation for both the chamber and economic development aspects of our organization, but he also brings incredible strengths in building sincere and trusted relationships, which also was evidenced throughout his interaction with our board members, investors, and staff,” Wickens said. “His experience, ideas, and passion for being an industry professional, supporting professional growth not only for himself but staff as well, will make him an invaluable leader of our organization.”
Allison will begin his new role in mid-March. He succeeds Wendy Dant Chesser, who stepped down last year after 10 years in the role to become director of corporate strategy & external affairs at the River Ridge Development Authority in Jeffersonville.
“I am humbled and honored to be selected as the next President and CEO of 1si,” Allison said in the release. “I’m excited for the future of this great organization and building on the foundation of success built over the years through Wendy, the staff, and the Board of Directors.
A native of Murray, Kentucky, Allison is a graduate Murray State University.
