State Bank decided to change its name as part of a large transition from a traditional to a full-service investment team, the bank said in a news release.
Compass symbolizes its commitment to lead investors toward successful savings and investments, the bank said. It will keep the same symbol as State Bank.
“We are excited to announce our new name and believe it reinforces the bank’s focus on helping guide consumers and businesses through complicated investment strategies,” President and CEO Michael Baker said in the release. “Our newly branded Compass Investment Services will continue to work with the individual investors we serve today and expand our expertise to business owners who are struggling with all of the compliance oversite and legal responsibilities of managing their companies’ 401-k portfolios.”
Jeffrey Jenness will serve as senior vice president of retirement and wealth planning. Bob Haymond and Nathan Melchi will also join as investment officers.
