The state’s port authority has hired Kristin Brier to serve as vice president of integrated planning & sustainable development.
In her new role, Brier will oversee the authority’s engineering, grant development and project delivery staff. She will also lead new initiatives to integrate planning among all departments, increase grant funding, and develop sustainable port projects, the authority said.
Brier most recently served as multimodal director at the Indiana Department of Transportation and has more than 20 years of experience in freight, multimodal planning, innovation, continuous improvement, grants, and environmental programs, according to a Ports of Indiana news release.
“Kristin brings a unique combination of skills and experience that perfectly match our planning and development initiatives,” Ports of Indiana CEO Jody Peacock said in the release. “Anyone who has worked with Kristin knows she is a dedicated professional and I could not be more pleased to have her join our organization. The Ports of Indiana said Brier will also serve as a liaison to state and federal officials on policy matters.
Brier earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree in public affairs from IUPUI.
