Huesing is a member of the Elements board and most recently served as vice president and treasurer at Indiana University Health.
“I’m proud of this organization and thrilled to serve in an increased capacity for the credit union,” Huesing said in a news release. “My service on the board has allowed me to see the tremendous talent and dedication we have at Elements. It’s an honor to be asked to play a more direct and daily role in shaping the future of the credit union.”
Prior to his work at IU Health, Huesing served as assistant treasurer at Eli Lilly and Co. He also serves on the boards for Firefly Children and Family Alliance, 16 Tech Community Corp. and the Iivestment subcommittee of the NCAA Board of Governors Finance and Audit Committee.
Huesing succeeds Whitney Anderson, who resigned from the position in late 2023 to pursue new opportunities, the credit union said.
Anderson was named CEO in February 2022, following the retirement of longtime CEO Lisa Schlehuber.
Elements said the board will conduct a nationwide search for a permanent CEO, though a timeline for a potential selection was not given.
Elements Financial is the second largest Indianapolis-area credit union with $2.3 billion in assets and more than 101,000 members, according to IBJ research.
