A news conference will take place Tuesday to detail the goals of Grow Allen and how its efforts can ultimately help drive wage and population growth.
Brenda Gerber Vincent, chief impact officer for Greater Fort Wayne Inc., gave a preview of Grow Allen during IBJ Media’s Engage Northeast Indiana earlier this month.
She said the goal is to focus on creating career pathways for students starting as early as pre-kindergarten.
“[We’re talking] about maternity and getting a child off to the right start, making sure they can read, that they’re reading by kindergarten, making sure they have the skills they need when they start school and then to make sure that they’re on the path for success as they go through K-12,” Vincent said.
Grow Allen board members will be joined by the four superintendents of Allen County’s public school system for the news conference on Tuesday.
We’ll have more on the launch of Grow Allen in Tuesday’s INside Edge Midday Report.
