IEDC taps consulting firm head to lead Great Lakes business efforts

Subscribe NowThe Indiana Economic Development Corp. on Tuesday announced Jonathan Laramy as the organization’s Great Lakes business expansion specialist. Laramy is the founder of consulting firm Stealth Mode Solutions, based in Chicago.
The IEDC said in his new role, Laramy will focus on fostering relationships with prospective partners and enhancing the state’s brand recognition with the goal of attracting business interest in Indiana and elevating the state’s profile in the Great Lakes market.
Specifically, Laramy will be tasked with increasing investment and innovation opportunities with companies based in the market, as well as domestic and international companies currently active in the Chicago market.
“Indiana is firmly committed to ongoing growth, continually seeking avenues to amplify and fortify our state’s reputation,” IEDC Chief Strategy Officer Ann Lathrop said in a news rleease. “Our targeted focus on the expansive and dynamic Great Lakes region is both deliberate and strategic. Indiana holds a beacon of opportunities, and Jonathan will serve as a guiding force, propelling Indiana’s economy forward.”
The IEDC said Laramy’s consulting firm has supported business development efforts for organizations in the technology, transportation and logistics, retail, manufacturing and clean energy industries.
In the past year, companies based in the Great Lakes Market—which includes Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin—have invested nearly $6.5 billion in Indiana, according to the IEDC.
