The state’s second-largest school district announced last week that, for the first time, all students living within the district’s boundaries will have access to high quality pre-K at a Fort Wayne elementary school.
Full-day pre-K classes at Harris Elementary and St. Joseph Central Elementary begin Tuesday.
The district also offers half-day pre-K programs. Eligibility is based on the students’ age and address.
Children must have been 4 years old, but not yet age 5 on or before Aug. 1, 2023, to attend. Students must live within the boundaries of a Fort Wayne Community Schools elementary school.
Program space is limited, and the district is encouraging parents seeking more information to call Pre-K Coordinator Katie Ziegler at 260-467-2850.
