The residential treatment services provider said the facility will serve as a center for agricultural learning and wellness.
CRA, a subsidiary of family services not-for-profit Josiah White’s, was founded in 2012 and provides services for teen girls and families in crisis.
The facility will be known as Jadyn’s Hope Barn, named in honor of Jadyn Beck, who was a student at CRA from March 2020 to April 2021. She is the daughter of Beck’s Hybrids President Scott Beck who, are majority donors.
Jadyn’s Hope Barn will include animal stalls, classrooms, group therapy rooms, a greenhouse, and a large space for recreational activities, trainings and family conferences, CRA said.
“Some of the ideas and the vision around the therapeutic farm have been ruminating in the back of our minds since the time Compass Rose launched in 2012,” Executive Director Mike Haarer said in a news release. “For this vision to come to life in the form of Jadyn’s Hope Barn with the help and support of this special family is not only incredibly exciting, but it is also a reflection of God’s love, grace, and healing.”
CRA plans to add a barn manager to its staff to oversee operations of the facility.
Financial terms of the invest are not being disclosed, though funding is also coming from The Beck Foundation and Remington-based FBi Buildings, which is leading the planning and construction of the facility.
A specific timeline for completion is still being finalized, but officials hope for the facility to open in the fall of 2024.
