The 2024 Best Colleges in the U.S. ranks 400 public and private universities across the country, with elite institutions like Princeton, MIT and Yale topping this year’s list.
The ranking, produced in collaboration with research partners College Pulse and Statista, evaluates schools based on three components: student outcomes, learning environment and diversity. It pulls data from an independent survey of 60,000 students and alumni, as well as the U.S. Department of Education data to compare graduate salaries, graduation rates, institutions’ net price, student demographics and more.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, making its first appearance on the list, was the highest ranked Indiana school at No. 17, followed by the University of Notre Dame, DePauw University and Purdue University.
Rose-Hulman also ranked No. 1 in learning opportunities and learning facilities, according to a news release from the institute.
“We believe that a strong return on investment is achieved through the combination of our high-quality education, cutting-edge facilities, and exceptional career opportunities,” Rose-Hulman President Robert Coons said. “These elements inspire our students to achieve their maximum potential and turn their dreams into reality.”
