Details on the companies looking to acquire the land were not provided, but River Ridge said the lots are located on both the Jeffersonville and Charlestown portions of the business park.
The RRDA said “Project Mill” involves a potential 30-acre site at the corner of Miami Trail and Highway 62 in Charlestown, while “Project Bingo” involves a 14.5-acre site along Paul Garrett Avenue in Jeffersonville.
RRDA Executive Director Jerry Acy said Monday that interest in the business park is at an all-time high, with the new projects highlighting the availability of smaller lots.
“We’re growing quickly, and thoughtfully,” Acy said in a news release. “These are important spaces for the park and for the community with tremendous potential and site selectors and real estate developers have taken notice.”
The RRDA did not provide an estimated timeline for a deal to be made for the projects.
The River Ridge Commerce Center encompasses about 6,000 acres of the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, which was shuttered in 1998.
In May, the RRDA said the business park generated more than $2.7 billion in economic impact for southern Indiana in 2022, as well as $43.6 million in total tax revenue for state and local entities.
The authority has plans to invest $200 million in local infrastructure improvements at the commerce center over the next decade.
