Jet Access is a full-service aviation management company, and its training program is an accelerated fast track to earn a commercial pilot’s license, the company said.
The new initiative, called the Jet Access/Vincennes University Professional Pilot Program, allows students to take general education courses while strapping in a plane for flying experience. The opportunities are available through the university’s Aviation Flight Technology Associate Degree Program.
Financial aid will be available for students as well.
“Vincennes University is excited to partner with Jet Access to create a talent pipeline and offer opportunities for promising students in one of the most in-demand and highest-paying careers in the aviation industry,” Director of Aviation Mike Gehrich said in a news release. “Together, we are building the future workforce by offering a flexible education option that should help alleviate the shortage of pilots the industry is experiencing.”
Students will be able to take the course at any of the Jet Access locations. The company has six locations in Indiana and 11 total, with out-of-state sites including Illinois and Texas.
