The company, which has a major presence in Indiana, said the brand has grown in popularity since its launch in October 2021.
Meijer is searching for companies around the world that wish to offer their retail-ready products under the Frederik’s brand, named after the retailer’s co-founder, Fred Meijer.
To be eligible, manufacturers must offer retail-ready products that are produced in a facility that passes third-party GFSI audits, have ingredient panels that comply with FDA and USDA regulations, and have retail-ready packaging.
“Frederik’s makes high quality, innovative and unique foods accessible to our customers for those moments they’re looking to make memorable,” Meijer Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer Don Sanderson said in a news release. “We’re excited to find additional partners that share our passion for innovation to bring new products to our customers and grow our businesses together.”
Interested manufacturers can submit their products through Meijer’s partner, RangeMe. The company will review products by category throughout the year.
Meijer said it expects to review products this year in the cocktail mixers, coffee, espresso pods, sauces, marinades & cooking sauces, soup, baking chips, refrigerated cookie dough, frozen desserts, bakery cookies and bakery sweet goods.
The company said manufacturers that make products in other categories are still encouraged to make a submission for future consideration.
Meijer operates more than 260 supercenters and grocery stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin. In Indiana, the company employs about 10,000 people at its 41 stores and one manufacturing facility, with another store opening this year.
