The national moving company says a growing number of workers are choosing to relocate as they prioritize balance between personal fulfillment and employment.
Atlas released the results of its 56th annual Corporate Relocation Survey which shows relocation volumes and budgets are increasing for most companies, driven in part by workplace policies mandating a return to in-office attendance.
The company says because fully remote work is on the decline, and employees overwhelmingly prefer remote or hybrid office models, voluntary relocation is a growing trend for employees.
The Atlas survey shows 68% of companies reported an increase in the overall number of employees relocated in 2022, a seven-point increase from 2021. The survey, which was based on responses from small to large companies, revealed 64% of companies reported an increase in 2022 relocation budget allocation, a six-point increase from 2021.
Respondents told Atlas their company’s financial performance improved in 2022 over 2021, however they are still concerned about the global economy in 2023, as longer-lasting trends persist including inflation, rising interest rates, and fears of a recession.
