SIA Seeks Tax Breaks

The automaker is seeking 10-year tax breaks on a more than $350 million equipment investment and nearly $70 million in real estate improvements. WLFI-TV in West Lafayette reports the requests are related to previously announced expansion plans. SIA says it plans to add 50 jobs and retain nearly 3,000.
The plant is preparing to add Subaru Impreza production in 2017.
When the additional model was first announced, SIA stated it anticipated adding 900 jobs.
That estimate has been scaled back following Toyota's decision to end Camry production at the facility in 2016.
