The health facility will be built in the Discovery Park District, which is adjacent to campus.
The health system, which announced the project in May, says the facility will have an emergency room and eight inpatient beds. The health system says the complex will focus primarily on outpatient care.
“Patients can expect the same quality of care they have come to rely on from Ascension St. Vincent in a setting that is convenient, close to home and with less time spent in a waiting room,” said Jonathan Nalli, chief executive officer of Ascension St. Vincent.
It will be located near Airport Road and Highway 231, an area of the city that has seen the development of the mixed-use, innovation-focused district and new housing complexes.
In addition to the ER and inpatient services, it will also have laboratory and imaging services.
Ascension St. Vincent says a hospital of this size serves as a middle ground between larger in-patient hospitals and urgent care centers.
