LEBANON, Ind. – The city of Lebanon approved a tax abatement on Wednesday, December 12th for the Hachette Book Group's recent expansion. The Hachette Book Group, a leading US trade publisher and a division of the second largest trade and educational book publisher in the world, is growing its North American headquarters, located in Lebanon. Hachette is expanding its facility by 218,000 square feet, and adding 10 new jobs. The expansion will also pump $6.1 million into the local economy in total capital investment.
Hachette Book Group began its operation in a 500,000 square foot building in 1996. With this latest expansion the company will operate in two buildings and more than 1-million square feet, increasing its workforce to 292 employees.
“It's exciting to see Hachette Book Group's latest expansion. Hachette has continued to; invest here, hire here, and grow here. They also do a great job of giving back to the community, so we couldn’t be happier about their continued growth,” said Boone County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Bryan Brackemyre.
Construction on the expansion project is expected to begin on March 1st, 2014. The completion date for the project is October 1st, 2014. Addition information regarding Hachette Book Group can be found at: http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/
