The Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission has granted preliminary tax abatement approval for Specialty Bakery LLC's $80 million proposal to locate in the city. The project moves on for final approval, which could come November 20.
The company would make frozen baked goods for quick service restaurants, bakeries and other distributors.
In papers filed with the commission, Specialty says it has a 15-year deal with a restaurant, which drove the need for the new plant.
