Ball State continues room & board, parking fee freeze

The Ball State University Board of Trustees has approved a freeze on room and board and parking fees for the second consecutive year. The university says the move is part of an effort to keep costs affordable for students in the 2022-2023 academic year.
Last year, the board made the decision not to increase room and board rates, as well as parking fees. The board also implemented a 1.45% tuition increase, though that covered both the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years.
“We are doing everything we can to keep costs affordable for students and their families, while delivering a high-quality educational experience,” Renae Conley, chair of the Ball State Board of Trustees, said in written remarks. “Even with rising inflation, access is our top priority for our institution.”
The board also approved the university’s operating budget for the next academic year, which it says provides more stability and modest salary increases for eligible employees.
