Chapman's Brewing Co. in Angola currently employs seven people, but Founder Scott Fergusson tells Inside INdiana Business he hopes to have 15 workers within a year. Its name is a tribute to John “Johnny Appleseed” Chapman, who spent time in nearby Fort Wayne.
Chapman's received more than $500,000 in abatement from the Angola City Council in March.
Fergusson, who is also dean of Trine University's Ketner School of Business, says hard cider is the fastest growing segment within the craft brewing market.
As the business grows, he says Chapmans will continue to hire marketing, development, finance/accounting and production employees at the brewery in Angola.
