More Food Vendors to Open at Union Street Market

Four more businesses have been announced for Union Street Market at Electric Works in downtown Fort Wayne. The market says the addition of Narrow Road Farm, Brooks BBQ & Chicken, Holy Ladle, and the Charlie Horse bar brings its total number of restaurants and food vendors up to 12.
Union Street Market is the indoor food market that is on track to open in October as part of the $286 million first phase of the mixed-use innovation district at the former General Electric campus.
“The selection of these new merchants marks an important milestone – the Market has filled half of the available spaces,” said Ted Spitzer, Union Street Market’s director of planning and development. “These diverse businesses show the breadth of what the Market will offer, from farm fresh fruits and vegetables to hot BBQ and Middle Eastern foods to a full-service bar with inventive cocktails and a wide range of Indiana spirits and beers on tap.”
Union Street Market says Narrow Road Farm, which operates a farm in Auburn, will offer pork and farmstand products such as eggs and dairy, as well as salads, wraps, and juices. Brooks BBQ & Chicken will offer charcoal-grilled ribs, turkey tips and fried chicken dipped in vinegar BBQ sauce, as well as sides including greens, mac-and-cheese and baked beans.
Holy Ladle will feature Middle Eastern dishes such as chicken kebabs, stews and Persian Love Cake, and the market says the Charlie Horse bar will feature cocktails, as well as Indiana-made beers and spirits.
Robert Johnson, Union Street Market’s local leasing coordinator, says interest in space in the Market keeps growing.
“Over the past several weeks, we have gotten inquiries from food entrepreneurs throughout Indiana,” said Johnson. “We continue to curate a diverse range of food businesses that will make visiting the Market an unforgettable culinary experience.”
In December, Bragg-A-Lot Sweets & Drinks and Local Apple Cart announced plans to open in the market.
