Mittman is the president and chief executive officer of Indianapolis-based Bosma Enterprises.
Mittman is a military veteran who lost his vision in combat. The NAEPB says his background with Bosma, which he has led since 2019, makes him uniquely qualified to help the association “maximize opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired across the nation.”
“It is an honor to take on this role,” Mittman said in written remarks. “As the national president, I look forward to working collaboratively with our member organizations and policy leaders to ensure we have supportive environments to promote the employment of thousands of working Americans who are blind or visually impaired.”
The association says Mittman will focus on bolstering employment opportunities and upward mobility for blind Americans and strengthening the AbilityOne Program, which creates jobs for people who are blind or have significant disabilities.
