Joe Scimia has joined Indianapolis-based Ice Miller LLP as a partner in its Real Estate Group. The firm has also named Blake Schulz of counsel. Ice Miller has offices in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Washington, D.C.

The firm says Scimia has more than 25 years of experience in representing owners and developers in real estate transactions. His areas of focus include construction, acquisition and development of residential, retail, office and industrial properties.

Schulz's transactional real estate practice focuses on industrial, commercial and multi-family real estate projects, including acquisition, leasing and development.

Real Estate Group Chair Aaron Dixon say Scimia and Schulz are a "natural" fit for the group.

Earlier this year, Ice Miller named eight new partners. They include Haley Altman, Taryn Stone, Robert Cochran, Stephen Reynolds, Isaac Colunga, Patrick Kennedy, Audra Ferguson-Allen and Christl Glier.
