The new cable-stayed bridge that will connect Jeffersonville to Louisville continues to come together. Officials with the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project say all three towers have reached their finished heights.

They also report the connection has been made between land and water with the Indiana approach connecting to the bridge deck at the nearest tower.    

The new bridge is being built with nine piers. Three of them include tower supports. Officials say the tallest tower is 280 feet and the others are 230 feet. Crews are installing stay cables at the towers. Meanwhile, the driving surface of the bridge is scheduled to be poured in the fall. Officials say the new bridge is expected to carry two-way traffic by January.
