For nearly a century, The Church of the Holy Cross has served as an anchor for the historic Holy Cross neighborhood on the near-east side of Indianapolis. But over the years, the number of parishioners dwindled, the building fell into disrepair and eventually closed in 2015 after its arched portico collapsed.
