Hoosier Businesses Among ‘Best Large Employers’

The publication determined the list through a survey of 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees.
Participants in the anonymous survey were asked to rate how likely they would recommend their employer to others on a scale of 0-10. They were then asked to nominate organizations other than their own, as well as organizations they would not recommend to others.
The University of Notre Dame is the highest-ranked Indiana representative on the list at No. 31, followed by Subaru of Indiana Automotive in Lafayette at No. 60, Community Health Network in Indy at No. 126, Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) at No. 127, Steel Dynamics Inc. (Nasdaq: STLD) in Fort Wayne at No. 193, and Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) at No. 198.
The University of Alabama, Birmingham tops the list, followed by Massachusetts-based Ultimate Kronos Group, the Mayo Clinic, Costco Wholesale Corp. (Nasdaq: COST), and Yale University.
