The company is tasked with hiring, credentialing and supporting the hundreds of nurses who will be administering the vaccine.
Tennessee is one of four states selected for the pilot program. The company says it has already hired a majority of the nurses who will be trained and deployed to the state’s 95 counties.
“Our sole focus with the vaccine pilot is to alleviate the significant pressures our Tennessee partners are already experiencing with the pandemic,” Julie Bielawski, chief executive officer of Knowledge Services, said in a news release. “Our team members, some of whom are based in Tennessee, have seen the toll this pandemic has taken on human life, including healthcare workers.”
Knowledge Services says throughout the pandemic, it has provided a variety of COVID-related services to agencies, such as processing unemployment claims, staffing COVID-19 testing cites and providing contact tracing.
In 2019, the company assisted the state of Tennessee with an immunization program in response to a major Hepatitis A outbreak.
