The larger facility replaces the current Rescue Mission and will allow it to offer new services that were previously unavailable.
Officials say the facility is four times larger and will be able to provide services to three-times more people.
“This investment made by our community for The Rescue Mission will be one felt for years. With this new facility we are prepared to move into the future as a beacon of hope for all those in our community who might be experiencing some kind of crisis in their lives.” said Rescue Mission Chief Executive Officer and President Donovan Coley.
The new facility is part of the organization’s $23 million The City on a Hill: Building Relocation & Expansion Capital Campaign.
Staff and residents are estimated to move into the new building between the end of July through the early part of August.
Groundbreaking on the project occurred in April 2019.
