Subscribe NowA new partnership between the Central Indiana Community Foundation and Indianapolis-based tech company Selfless.ly aims to make it easier for businesses and individuals to move toward philanthropy. Selfless.ly founder Josh Driver says the platform provides data for companies to track and manage their charitable giving. Through the partnership, CICF will provide fiduciary support for Selfless.ly, meaning all charitable contributions made through the platform will pass through CICF, which can help nonprofits connect with corporations.
Driver and CICF Vice President for Development & Strategy Rob MacPherson discussed the partnership on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick.
“One of the things that CICF is best known for in the community is helping individuals or corporations just execute on their charitable giving the way they want to execute on it,” said MacPherson. “We’ve had more requests (from) corporations, small businesses, family-owned companies for help with organizing that, what’s now called a CSR, corporate social responsibility platform. How does it match the company’s interests? How does it engage the employees if the employees want to engage?”
MacPherson says the partnership will help make the process easier and increase the amount of money being given to charities. “We see it all the time that if we make it easy, and Josh is all about making things easier, makes it easier to do, which makes you do more and the community benefits from that.”
Driver says the concept of corporate social responsibility has a major impact on the bottom line of companies as it relates to employee engagement. He says it’s no longer a “nice to have” concept, but rather one every business should have.
“Working with CICF is a natural fit for us,” Driver said in a news release. “Both of our organizations value transparency, which is increasing in demand. We are thrilled to partner with CICF to help so many local organizations connect with socially responsible corporations here in Indiana and beyond.”
Selfless.ly says it recently released its beta program to companies in central Indiana and plans to make “key hires” this year in the areas of client success, engineering and sales.
