Sullivan Launches Partnership with ISU

Subscribe NowA year-long partnership aims to provide opportunities for experiential learning and fieldwork experience for students, while boosting sustainability and quality of life in Sullivan. Indiana State University’s Office of Sustainability has launched a partnership with the city to develop collaborative community-based projects.
Over the next 12 months, ISU’s Office of Sustainability with work with the city to assess what projects will be implemented and the necessary scopes of work.
The projects will be completed by Sustainable Cities faculty and ISU students.
The first of what the city says will be many “listening sessions” was held last week. Residents were encouraged to give input on sustainable projects and pitch ideas. A brainstorming session was also held to find proactive ways to incorporate ecological operations in the city.
“The city of Sullivan is actively pursuing opportunities that cater to all – folks from age 5 to 95. Our administration will continue to implement quality of life incentives to live, work, play and continue investing in our community,” said Mayor Clint Lamb. “We look forward to partnering with Indiana State to make these a reality by continuing to transform this wonderful city in a sustainable fashion.”
