Financial terms of the deal for Princeton-based Heritage Custom Fabricators Inc. are not being disclosed, however the company will continue as an independent division of Nix Companies.
Heritage Custom Fabricators was founded in the 1930s and operates out of a 50,000-square-foot facility in Princeton. The company specializes in heavy contract machining, gear manufacturing, gearbox rebuilds, welding and fabrication.
"The machining and gear manufacturing services offered by Heritage are new additions to our product and service offerings," said Matthew Nix, president of Nix Companies. "These are complementary to our existing services and will add immediate value to our current customers. Additionally, this allows us to control every segment of the metal manufacturing process within our company. Their fabrication capabilities are similar to our existing services but will increase our crane capacity from 20 tons to 30 tons, while also doubling our production space. "
Nix Companies was founded in 1902 by Charles Nix, the great-great-grandfather of the company’s current owners. The company was recently named one of the "Best Places to Work in Indiana" by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
