ManTech Opens R&D Lab at Crane

Subscribe NowVirginia-based ManTech International Corp. has opened a new warfare laboratory at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane. The company says the lab will be used to research and develop advanced weapon systems and cyber warfare capabilities.
Financial terms of ManTech’s investment in the lab are not being disclosed. The 20,000-square-foot lab houses ManTech employees who were drawn from Daviess, Greene and Martin counties. The company says some of the work to be performed at the lab will include encryption, GPS development, operational test planning and R&D in electrical optical and infrared applications.
"By ‘Bringing Digital to the Mission,’ ManTech is working with NSWC-Crane to give America’s Naval warfighters competitive advantage and advance strategic objectives that ensure national security," says Andrew Twomey, senior vice president and general manager of defense for ManTech’s MSS Group. "Our work will span disciplines essential to defense, including the new ‘Defend Forward’ doctrine to defeat cyberattacks at their source."
ManTech says it currently supports a wide variety of advanced computing, communications and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities for Crane.
