 Norm Gabehart will retire as town manager for Whiteland in January. He has spent 35 in public service in Johnson County.

Gabehart’s first role in government came in 1985, when he was hired as fleet maintenance director for the city of Greenwood. He was elected to the Whiteland town council for two terms, from 1992 to 1999. After that, Gabehart served as operations director for the city of Greenwood’s public works department.

He has served as Whiteland town manager since 2014.
