White to Lead Lilly Oncology

(NYSE: LLY) has named Anne White president of Lilly Oncology. White will also serve as senior vice president for the parent company and will succeed Sue Mahony, who is retiring. White first came to Lilly in 1991 as an engineering before taking multiple clinical research and drug development positions inside and outside the company. She currently serves as vice president of portfolio management, Chorus and Next Generation Research & Development.
Lilly says White, a University of Michigan graduate, has held pharmaceutical industry positions in oncology, neuroscience, infectious disease drug development and process transformation, as well as founding an oncology drug development startup that partnered with the Moffitt Cancer Center and the National Cancer Institute.
Chief Executive Dave Ricks says "Anne brings a wealth of experience, expertise and leadership to our executive team. She has led and delivered against our Next Generation Development objectives, accelerating medicines to patients and playing a key role in our recent R&D productivity. Her experience leading significant change transformation within the company will be incredibly valuable as we look toward the future."
Her first day will be September 1.
