WESCO Growing in Delaware County

Subscribe NowPennsylvania-based WESCO Distribution has announced plans to expand its operations in Delaware County. The company says it will move its Daleville branch to a shell building currently under construction and slated to be complete by the fall.
WESCO says the 50,000-square-foot building will house a larger variety of overhead, underground residential, substation/switchyard material and equipment that will better serve the company’s utility-based customers throughout the state. WESCO also plans to expand its offerings in the region to include more fiber and broadband products and employ up to 30 people over the next five years.
The company has had a presence in Delaware County since the mid-1950s. The new shell building is being developed as part of a joint partnership between the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission and Briner Buildings, which owns the facility.
"Assisting an existing stable company like WESCO with their growth and expansion in the Town of Daleville is a win-win for the community," said Daleville Town Board President Bill Walters. "It took a little time to find the right tenant for the building, but I couldn’t be happier knowing that the new occupant will be a company with such a strong history and commitment to our county such as WESCO."
WESCO has branches in several Indiana cities, including Elkhart, Evansville, Gary, Greenfield, Indianapolis, Kokomo, and South Bend. The company did not immediately provide financial details for the expansion.
