The university’s board of trustees has approved a $125 per semester increase for meal plans and a $75 per semester jump for on-campus housing. The meal plan increase was attributed to heightened food costs.
The university will give students $50 in Munch Money, which is a pre-paid account for on-campus food service, to use in dining halls in exchange for these price increases.
“We intentionally work to meet the unique wants and needs of our students in dining operations and housing facilities on campus,” said Steve Bridges, Vice President for Finance and Administration, in a news release. “We know affordability is important to our students and intend to keep fee increases to a minimum while continuously working to ensure students have the best on-campus experiences.”
Students who selected a two-year housing rate lock in 2023-24 are not subject to the hike.
