The Fort Wayne-based university appointed Richey, a professor of theology and former vice president of academic affairs, to the position in March.
Richey had been serving as interim president since May 2023, about a month after former President Rev. Eric Zimmer announced plans to step down.
While the inauguration is happening Friday, Richey began his duties as president after his appointment in March.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the North Campus Auditorium on the USF campus.
The event will include remarks from Most Reverend Kevin Rhoades, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend; Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker; Sister Margaret Mary Mitchel, provincial superior of the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration; USF Board of Trustees Chair Richard Poinsatte; and Independent Colleges of Indiana Chief Operating Officer Laura Bridges.
