Unique Hotel: From Boat to Boutique

Officials will Friday break ground on Tiny Urban Escapes, a boutique hotel built from up-cycled shipping containers.
The development is located in a commercial corridor along West Michigan Street, in the heart of the Near West Great Place.
The developer, Robin Staten-Lanier, says travelers have grown tired of cookie-cutter hotels and have begun shifting toward new and more intimate types of hotels.
The company says Tiny Urban Escapes will offer fully automated, self-service modular suites
Construction is set to be complete later this summer.
