The new collaboration with IU Health builds on a long-term relationship between the health care providers. The hospital says the arrangement is not a new concept, as it has used an ER physician management company for years.
"Our emergency department has worked very collaboratively with IU Health for the care of trauma patients for years, this enhancement of that emergency department relationship ensures an even stronger continuity of care between the two organizations for our patients," said Union Health Chief Executive Officer Steve Holman. "This collaboration with IU Health will further our mission by ensuring that patients in our emergency departments receive the best care possible."
Union Hospital has campuses in Terre Haute and Clinton and smaller locations throughout the region.
