In a notice to the state, union officials said operations at the center, along with its sister location in Michigan, will shut down permanently in October, affecting nearly 100 workers.
The union did not specify how many of the 97 workers are located in Kokomo. A reason for the closure was also not provided.
The closings are scheduled to take place October 31, precisely two months after the notice was filed with the state. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act requires businesses conducting a mass layoff or closure to provide notice 60 days in advance.
