UAW Sets Chrysler Deal Vote

The contract comes more than one month after the old agreement was set to expire.

United Auto Workers members throughout the country, including thousands in Indiana, will vote on a proposed labor deal with Fiat Chrysler Automotive next week. The automaker employs more than 7,000 workers at transmission operations in Kokomo and Tipton County.

Chrysler and the UAW announced a last-minute, tentative agreement last week in hopes of averting a work stoppage.

UAW Local 685 will hold informational meetings about the proposed contract on Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15 at Ivy Tech Community College in Kokomo. Those meetings will be held at 6:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.

Voting takes place Tuesday, October 20 and Wednesday, October 21 from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. both days at UAW Local 685 on Hoffer Street in Kokomo.
