In her new job, the university says Warren will now be in charge of direct housing and residential life on campus. That’s in addition to handling Trine’s financial planning, budgeting, investments and business operations.
“It’s a privilege to be able to continue helping Trine University students receive the same personal attention and career focus I did,” Warren said in a press release. “I’m excited for my new role and honored that Trine University has entrusted me with these new responsibilities.”
Per a release from the university, Warren is a 2006 graduate of Trine and joined the school professionally in 2016 as a controller.
Trine’s most recent capital project—a $42 million College of Health Professions building—opened in Fort Wayne in late September.
Trine President Earl Brooks said Warren takes over at a time of uncertainty for many small universities.
“Kayla’s institutional knowledge, leadership and financial acumen has continued to keep Trine University’s financial position strong during an era of economic instability and enrollment drops across the spectrum of higher education, and I know she will bring the same skill and dedication to her new responsibilities,” Brooks said in a statement.
In addition to her work at Trine, Warren is a board member of the Steuben County Community Foundation and of Farmers State Bank.
