FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Trine University has reduced the cost of tuition for students entering its new doctor of occupational therapy program.
The cost for the three-year, eight-semester program is now $9,960 per semester for a total cost of $81,105, including fees, the university said. The program launches in May.
“We know recent inflationary pressures have made it more difficult for students and families to afford the cost of higher education,” program director Beth O’Rourke said in a news release. “At the same time, the need for quality health professionals continues to increase as our population ages and many currently in the field reach retirement age.”
The university did not immediately say how much the cost of tuition for the program is dropping.
Trine’s doctor of occupational therapy program includes five integrated clinical experiences before students start a 24-week full-time rotation. Any student with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 can apply.
The program has applied for accreditation and has been granted candidacy status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association, according to the university’s website.
It is offered through Trine’s Dr. Earl D. and Melanie N. Brooks College of Health Professions in Fort Wayne. The university’s main campus is in Angola.
