The company says it will invest nearly $26 million to add to its production operations, creating nearly 35 jobs by next year.
Tredegar Film Products manufactures plastic films and laminates for the adult/baby diaper and feminine hygiene products market. The planned 35,000-square-foot addition in Terre Haute would house two state-of-the-art elastic lamination lines, according to documents filed with the city.
In addition to creating the new full-time positions, the company says the expansion would help retain more than 120 jobs. Steve Witt with the Terre Haute Economic Development Corp. tells our partners at WTHI-TV the new jobs would pay around $27 per hour.
The company says construction on the project could begin in April and is estimated to be complete by the end of 2019. The Terre Haute City Council is considering a 10-year tax abatement for the project.
Tredegar Film Products is a subsidiary of Tredegar Corp. (NYSE: TG) and operates 10 facilities throughout the world, according to its website.
