Tindley announces new network president

Subscribe NowIndianapolis-based Tindley Accelerated Schools has announced Dr. Jonathan Harris as its new network president. Harris, who currently serves as vice president of Indianapolis Classical Schools, will take the helm of one of the city’s original charter school systems.
Previously, Harris served at Herron High School as an instructor, dean of students, and assistant head of school.
“Dr. Harris has had a rich and diverse career in education, from classroom instruction to improving resources for teachers, to leading schools in a variety of capacities,” said Hilary Buttrick, chair of the Tindley board, and Associate Dean of Academics at Butler University’s Lacy School of Business. “We are confident that Dr. Harris’ leadership, enthusiasm, and passion for improving education will serve Tindley students, families and staff extremely well.”
Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Alabama A&M University, a master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision from Ball State University, and a doctorate in Educational Administration from Ball State University.
“I am excited to build on Tindley’s legacy of strong academics, and I look forward to working closely with the Board and Tindley’s faculty to create a dynamic learning environment for our scholars,” said Harris.
Tindley operates Tindley Summit Academy, Tindley Genesis Academy and Charles A. Tindley Accelerated Middle and High School in Indy.
