The public distribution will come after Ball State students have their shot at obtaining tickets on Saturday and faculty and staff pick up tickets on Sunday.
Tickets for the Emens Auditorium event are reserved seating, free and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Students, faculty and the public are limited to two tickets each.
Letterman, a Ball State graduate and former “Late Show” host, will interview the WNBA rookie of the year at 7 p.m. as part of the David Letterman Distinguished Professional Lecture and Workshop Series.
“David Letterman is our university’s most famous graduate. He is a native Hoosier and a national icon, and Caitlin Clark has quickly become a beloved Hoosier and national star,” said Ball State University President Geoffrey S. Mearns. “I anticipate their conversation will be very special. On behalf of Ball State, we are honored to host them.”
Clark finished her college career at the University of Iowa last spring as the NCAA Division 1 all-time leading scorer. She joined the Indiana Fever as the WNBA’s No. 1 overall draft pick and led the team to the playoffs for the first time in seven years.
She averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game and led the WNBA in assists per game and was second in the league in both minutes per game and free-throw percentage.
In addition, the Fever averaged more than 17,000 fans per game, a third more than any other team in the league. And Clark drove up attendance across the league, with several teams moving their games against the Fever to bigger arenas to accommodate crowds.
For the Dec. 2 event at Ball State, students can pick up tickets between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at the Emens Box Office. Students can also pick up tickets from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday and during regular box office hours thereafter.
Faculty and staff tickets are available with employee IDs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets will remain available to faculty and staff while supplies last at the box office during its regular hours.
Tickets for the general public will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Monday.
