Financial details of the project are not being disclosed, but the company said the new distribution center will replace a nearby facility.
The Andersons, which describes itself as a diversified company rooted in agriculture, said in a news release it has entered into a long-term lease for the 51,000-square-foot facility, which is expected to be operational by the end of the year.
The company said the distribution center will support its cob and paper-based products such as bedding, litter, liners, and recovery pads used in the lab, pet, and industrial markets.
Kelly Bodway, general manager of contract and carrier manufacturing for The Andersons, said the new facility’s central location will allow it to better support its customers and provides opportunity to continue to grow.
“The Andersons bringing this facility to Carroll County is a testament to the appeal of the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Park as a prime location for businesses looking to thrive,” said Jacob Adams, executive director of the Carroll County Economic Development Corp. “We believe that our continued investments into housing, broadband, and infrastructure are the catalysts for growth in our community.”
The Andersons operates more than 120 locations worldwide, including grain storage facilities, ethanol production plants, plant nutrient production facilities, and retail and wholesale centers.
In Indiana, the company has facilities in Delphi, Dunkirk, Galveston, Logansport, North Manchester, Oakville, Poneto, Seymour, and Waterloo. The Andersons employs some 2,400 people around the world, including about 250 in Indiana.
